Blair’s History

Education:
I grew up in the Bay Area and attended UC Berkeley for undergrad, where I studied Public Health and Spanish Literature. It was there that I developed a strong interest in health disparities affecting Latino communities. I continued my pursuit of this interest at the Keck School of Medicine of USC for medical school. Through caring for the large, underserved Latino population in Los Angeles, I furthered my understanding of the barriers within our healthcare system and learned how to be a successful advocate for my patients.
Experience:
In June 2024, I completed my pediatrics residency at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital where I gained invaluable skills providing care to pediatric patients from all across the Northwest in inpatient, ICU, and outpatient settings. My continuity clinic during residency was at Sea Mar, an FQHC in South Seattle, where I served as a Pediatrician for a primarily Latino population, many of whom were recent immigrants. During my time in residency, I was fortunate to spend four months in Yakima County as a Pediatrician and partnered with community organizations and schools to increase access to health resources for children.
I aspire to..
Partner with children and their families to help empower them with the knowledge, skills, and resources to pursue a healthy lifestyle and prevent chronic diseases while having a deep understanding of the context in which they live and play, work in a school-based clinic providing adolescent care, and grow a dahlia garden!
Hobbies?
I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, hiking, eating the gourmet meals cooked by my fiancé, Neill; spending time with our tripod cat, Henley, and very sweet dog, Alvin; reading, watching British crime shows.
Why do you want to work for CHCW?
I want to work for CHCW because During my second year of residency, I spent two months working at Yakima Pediatrics. I was impressed with how supportive providers and clinic staff were of one another and the way they truly worked together as a team to provide excellent patient care and keep things moving throughout busy clinic days while still having fun. The behavioral health team is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in primary care and is such an incredible resource that eliminates barriers to mental health care for our patients. Seeing this team in action, it was clear to me that CHCW values their patients’ health. Throughout my journey in medicine, the end goal has always remained the same: to work at an FQHC serving a largely Latino community working to reduce health disparities one patient at a time. I admire CHCW’s commitment to providing equitable care to the commu-nity and am so excited to be joining this team!
