About Community Health of Central Washington
We provide quality healthcare through service and education.
Our Mission
Community Health of Central Washington was founded with one bold and clear vision: All people in our region should enjoy access to affordable and appropriate health care.
That sounds simple enough. But providing quality health care service is complex. That vision has caused us to grow, and to provide a wide array of services in multiple sites.
Education has always been an important part of our mission. Our family medicine residency has operated since 1993, and is responsible for graduating nearly 30 family doctors who practice in our area and have helped to ease the primary care shortage. We also participate in training many other health care professions.
Primary Care
Today, CHCW is the medical home for more than 30,000 people in Central Washington. We provide comprehensive care for all ages, regardless of the ability to pay. Our patients receive preventive services, care for acute and chronic illness, and care in our clinics, hospitals and other sites. We provide prenatal and obstetric services in Yakima and Kittitas Counties.
CHCW Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At Community Health of Central Washington, we acknowledge that we work in a system of health care and medical education that perpetuates implicit and explicit bias and barriers, and has condoned inequity and institutionalized racism.
We are committed to dismantling institutionalized racism and addressing these disparities through: acknowledging their presence; developing an equity curriculum; increasing advocacy within our organization, community, and at a national level by elevating voices of marginalized communities; and training patient-centered, culturally sensitive, compassionate providers to provide quality care to all diverse peoples and communities, in Central Washington and beyond.
We value every person, inclusive of their socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, language, nationality, sex, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual practice, geography, ability, medical condition, or age.
Other Services
We’re much more than your ordinary health clinic. We offer many other services, including (but not limited to):
Dental Care
Our dental clinic, Ellensburg Dental Care, is helping to meet the oral health needs of all ages for affordable care in Kittitas County. Ellensburg Dental is fully operational and ready to care for you and your family!
Senior Residential Care
Our Senior Residential Care and Senior Smiles programs are designed especially for meeting the healthcare needs of individuals residing in assisted living, adult family homes and skilled nursing facilities.
Pharmacy Services
Our patients have access to our full service pharmacies in both Yakima and Ellensburg. Enjoy the convenience of prescriptions at one place, along with specialized treatment and care tailored to you.
Integrated Behavioral Health
Our services differ from other behavioral health services in that our Behavioral Health Consultants are a regular part of your primary care team, and communicate regularly with your primary care provider.
Connect
Our connect team provides a holistic, comprehensive approach that supports patients in their journey with opioid addiction and dependence by providing medication and behavioral health interventions.
WIC
Women, Infants, and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) helps by improving the health of nutritionally at-risk low-income women, breastfeeding moms, infants, and children. WIC services are provided at no cost to recipients.
