Lacey’s History

Kristina Bowen Updated

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Social Work from George Fox University; Masters degree in Social Work from Baylor University.

What drew you to CHCW?:

CHCW encompasses a population health perspective that is innovative and compassionate. I feel privileged and grateful to be a part of this organization.

Philosophy of Care:

I am tenaciously passionate about using my experience and skills to create a positive impact for the health of communities. My values for professional practice include compassion, curiosity, encouragement, and integrity. My leadership style is value- based, collaborative, service oriented, and solution focused. I hold a population health perspective, which gives me the ability to create macro change. I am a team player, often quite skilled at bringing people together and lead groups with ease. My theoretical approach to clinical practice involves evidence based theories of psychology such as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. While I draw from a wide perspective of theoretical approaches, I believe the essential foundation for healing to happen is building trust with the people. I hold a Strengths Trauma-Informed Care Perspective in all the work that I do.

Hobbies:

I love spending time with my family. On a warm day we are close to water, swimming and boating. On a cold snowy day, there is nothing better than skiing on the mountain. Being outside as much as possible is how I take care of myself.

Bio:

Born and raised in Yakima, I have lived all over the pacific northwest and call Yakima home.
