YAKIMA — Two local medical residency programs have received funding under the Affordable Care Act to train more physicians.

Community Health of Central Washington received $375,000 and Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic received $150,000, the Health and Human Services Department announced Friday.

Both are referred to as Teaching Health Centers for their residency programs. Community Health has been training physicians for 20 years, while Farm Workers just recently started a residency program.
