Community Health of Central Washington responds to community needs with innovation and collaboration. We develop sustainable programs and services that drive healthcare equity.
Our Mission
Community Health of Central Washington was founded with one bold and clear vision: All people in our region should enjoy access to affordable and appropriate health care. That sounds simple enough, but providing quality health care service is complex. That vision has enabled us to grow, and to provide a wide array of services in multiple sites. Today, CHCW is the medical home for more than 30,000 people in Central Washington. We provide comprehensive care for all ages, regardless of the ability to pay.
Education has always been an important part of our mission. Our family medicine residency has operated since 1993, and is responsible for graduating more than 150 family physicians – 30 of whom remain to practice in our communities and have helped to ease the primary care shortage. We also participate in training many other healthcare professions. We couldn’t do any of this without our experienced, knowledgeable, and community-driven providers.
Our patients receive preventive services, care for acute and chronic illness, and care in our clinics, hospitals and other sites. We provide prenatal and obstetric services in Yakima and Kittitas Counties. Our services and programs include: Primary Care, Dental, Pharmacy, Integrated Behavioral Health, WIC, and much more.

CHCW Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At Community Health of Central Washington, we acknowledge that we work in a system of health care and medical education that perpetuates implicit and explicit bias and barriers, and has condoned inequity and institutionalized racism.
We are committed to dismantling institutionalized racism and addressing these disparities through: acknowledging their presence; developing an equity curriculum; increasing advocacy within our organization, community, and at a national level by elevating voices of marginalized communities; and training patient-centered, culturally sensitive, compassionate providers to provide quality care to all diverse peoples and communities, in Central Washington and beyond.
We value every person, inclusive of their socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, language, nationality, sex, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual practice, geography, ability, medical condition, or age.
